A Planimetric map, also know as a line map, represent only the horizontal positions of features, and not the vertical positions. Similar to a road map, shows directions with no elevation. This is in contrast to the topographic which gives horizontal and vertical. These maps will show buildings, highways, reservoirs, docks, piers, bridges and other pieces of construction or features.
